Today we broke ground on the garden! With days of rain and little time in between for the ground to dry there’s been zero opportune time to till. The ground still wasn’t ideal but Tony fought with the tiller and dug one row. We planted carrots, beets, kale, radish, peas, kohl rabi; and broadcasted spinach and lettuce just as the sun was setting. It’s a bit of an experiment since the ground was more like mud in some places but we’ve been so impatient to work the ground we had to get seeds in before the next week of rainstorms. The soggy season has arrived! Check out the beginning of our contoured garden on the side of a mountain.
